AILET Exam Overview
The All India Law Entrance Test, commonly known as AILET, is a national-level entrance examination conducted by National Law University (NLU), Delhi for admission to its law programmes.
Unlike CLAT, which is used for admission to multiple National Law Universities, AILET is exclusively conducted for admission to NLU Delhi.
Through this exam, students can secure admission to the five-year integrated BA LL.B. (Hons.) programme, LL.M programme, and PhD in Law offered by the university.
Every year thousands of students appear for AILET, making it one of the most competitive law entrance examinations in India.

AILET Exam Eligibility
AILET UG Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the BA LL.B. (Hons.) programme at NLU Delhi, candidates must meet the following requirements.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
Minimum Marks Required
General Category: Minimum 45 per cent marks in Class 12
SC / ST / Persons with Disabilities: Minimum 40 per cent marks
Students appearing for their Class 12 board examinations in the same year are also eligible to apply, provided they produce proof of qualification at the time of admission.
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for appearing in AILET UG.
AILET PG Eligibility Criteria
For admission to the LL.M programme at NLU Delhi, the following conditions apply.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have completed LL.B. or an equivalent law degree from a recognised university.
Minimum Marks Required
General Category: Minimum 50 per cent marks in LL.B.
SC / ST / Persons with Disabilities: Minimum 45 per cent marks
Candidates who are in the final year of their LL.B. programme are also eligible to appear for the exam, subject to fulfilling the degree requirement at the time of admission.
